As the middle of winter approaches there is much to prepare for your spring wedding. The months of March, April and May are the official three months of spring. With snow melting in spring the animals are more active and plants begin to grow. This is the season of new beginnings and getting ready for the warmth of summer. Here are five themes that are appropriate for your wedding in the spring season.

Spring Flowers

One of the most beautiful parts of spring is all the flowers that grow. These are primarily bulb flowers like tulips, daffodils, crocuses, irises, hyacinths and lilies. They all come in an assortment of colors so you can have a variety of color at your wedding. While tulips, daffodils, irises and lilies are great for arrangements, you would want to do potted plants of crocuses and hyacinths for centerpieces.

Magnolia Trees

One of the most beautiful sights in spring is the blooming magnolia trees. Their heavenly aroma is sure to add a nice touch to your wedding ceremony and reception. Consider using branches of magnolia trees for the bouquets, boutonnieres and centerpieces. Also you can have the invitations and napkins printed with a pretty magnolia tree image on the front to add a nice touch.

Birds

Whether you love red robins, blue birds, finches or blackbirds, they are all more abundant in spring as the mating season starts and they begin building nests. Choose your favorite bird and make it your wedding theme. You can use an artistic image of the bird on invitations, napkins and wedding favors. Also you can use beautiful replicas of the bird as toppers on your wedding cake.

Butterflies

Butterflies are another beautiful symbol of late spring but you can use them as a wedding theme anytime in spring. Whether you love blue, purple, white or the elegant monarchs with black and orange, any butterfly can be a beautiful wedding theme. You can use butterflies on sticks in the flower arrangements, make butterfly cookies as wedding favors and use butterflies on your cake, invitations and napkins.

Pastels

Pastel colors are very popular for spring and you can mix and match them as you please. You can use colors like silver or gold with a pastel color if you want a bit of shimmer on the tables. The popular pastels are pinks, blues, purples, creams and yellows for spring. You can find spring flowers for the wedding in any of these colors. While there are no pastel green flowers, they are great as table linens, details on the wedding cake or paper color for your invitations.

While these wedding themes are broad, you can take the basic idea and make it your own. You can use any one of the themes for many different aspects of the wedding. Make sure you choose something that you really like and if you want an elegant wedding then choose a theme and put an elegant spin on it. Adding some candlelight and sheer overlay on the dinner tables is an easy way to make any of the themes more elegant.
