Wedding Planning Ideas
Choosing your wedding theme is one of the most crucial parts of the planning process. It is the backbone to the whole wedding and requires more attention than most brides give it. There are more chances that the theme will be a total disaster than turn out just as you imagined. With that it mind, I’ve come up with a few ways you can avoid having a tacky wedding and be closer to the perfect day.
Brainstorm Your Expectations
While brainstorming the theme of your wedding it is important to think about the expectations you have of the day as a whole.
Every bride-to-be has a million things to do before the wedding. This can lead to some slip-ups and missed opportunities when it comes to planning. Nobody wants to deal with last minute issues or cancellations but they tend to happen more than you would expect. To give the brides a heads up on what could happen I’ve come up with a list of horrible situations that have happened to other brides. Read on so that you can hopefully avoid these nightmares.
Wedding Dress Is Not Ready
I’ve heard of this happening more to brides that have distant weddings than local, but the seamstress has literally no time to get the dress finished. Of all the possible issues, the wedding dress is a very large one. No bride wants to have a dress that doesn’t fit right and sags around her rear or sticks out at her bust.
One of the most memorable moments of your wedding might just be getting cake shoved in your mouth. While this may seem silly to you, it is a traditional part of the wedding reception. We’ve all seen movies of the cake cutting where the husband and wife feed each other the first piece of cake. It is a classic act and since you will defiantly be eating the cake and sharing it with all the wedding guests it is a good idea to make sure you love the taste. With that in mind, here are five important things to remember when picking out your wedding cake!
One of the most fun parts of planning your wedding is the honeymoon. This is the time when you and your new spouse get to go away somewhere beautiful and celebrate each other. There are no distractions or interruptions and you have full attention on one another. With that in mind you want to choose a place that fits both of your interests. This can be difficult if you are two lives becoming one. However, with a little help you just might find the right place to honeymoon.
When it comes to getting your wedding registry together there is a lot to choose from. Almost all stores these days offer you a registry for different life events. With that in mind you really have to choose the stores that suit both you and your fiancé. Due to the fact that the whole picking and choosing process of wedding registries can be quite a headache I’ve put together a few tips that make it a little easier.
Choosing Your Stores
Due to the fact that you have such a large selection of stores to choose from, it would be nice to register at all the ones you shop at. Unfortunately, that would mean either sending a list of all twenty stores or including twenty different little registry cards with your invitations. This is excessive and looks rather greedy and overwhelming from the guests stand point. Instead of over doing it, try to limit yourself.
After talking to a few of my friends about weddings they have been to lately and how disastrous the receptions were, I’ve decided to give some party planning advice. We all have great ideas about music selection, types of alcoholic beverages and what type of atmosphere is ideal. The unfortunate reality of wedding receptions is that without a great balance of all three, your guests may become bored and want to leave early. With that in mind, here are some tips to help make the reception a fun and memorable experience.
One of the most desired locations for a wedding is on the beach. It’s beautiful and the sound of the ocean creates a romantic setting for the exchange of vows. Then in the evening you get to enjoy a beautiful sunset. Natural beauty will awe your guests and allow you to save on the decorations. No need to go overboard, the scenery says it all!
This beautiful beach setting comes at a pretty high price. Due to the pristine location you will most likely have to go with a resort or established function business on the beach. These places are typically all inclusive and do not allow you to supply your own food, decorations or music.
Most men feel the pressure when choosing an engagement ring for the woman of their dreams. This is often due to the fact that the average man does not sit around and study diamond rings or learn what is important and what is not. It is a common misconception to just think about the size of the diamonds and color of the setting because you can end up with a not-so-pretty ring. As most men forget some of the important characteristics of a diamond ring, here is a bling bling buying 101 to help make your purchase.
