Stunning scenery, abundant sunshine and an idyllic atmosphere are among a host of reasons couples choose to have a Colorado mountain wedding. But, with so many attractive locations and so many options available, choosing the perfect place to exchange vows can be a daunting task. There is, however, one Colorado mountain location that rises above the rest with all it has to offer.
1. Complete the Dress: Have your wedding dress steamed and pressed. Walking down the aisle in a wrinkled dress would be the worst thing that could happen for any bride. It is your big day; make sure you shine in a beautifully flawless dress. You will be glad you did it when you look back at photos!
Looking for a way to move beyond the typical favors such as hearts and candy? Unique wedding favors based on the season in which you’re married really strike a chord. Each season gives you a variety of ideas to choose from. By bringing the outdoors in, you add natural beauty to your decorations and provide a one-of-a-kind gift for your guests.
Winter Snowflakes Add a Little Magic
Winter brings thoughts of the holidays as well as the joy and excitement that come with them. A tree and stocking might remind you of Christmas, while a menorah conjures visions of Hanukah. But no matter what holiday you celebrate, the snowflake is traditionally a symbol of the winter season making it perfect for inclusion on unique wedding favors. Snowflake candleholders with frosted glass add a touch of elegance and create a warm glow whether at your reception or in the homes of your guests. Glass coasters with delicate etchings of snowflakes are both useful and beautiful. There are also dainty snowflake bookmarks, functional bottle stoppers and handy key rings.
Choosing the perfect wedding flowers is quite an obstacle when narrowing down the details. Every flower has a specific list of colors it is available in and depending on the season flowers can be hit or miss. Not to worry my dear! There are plenty of beautiful flowers available in the flower market and most florists can get their hands on prime pickings.
When it comes to wedding flowers and color coordination I recommend that you have your wedding colors picked out and then choose flowers that compliment or accent the overall wedding theme or color of the linens. For example at my wedding there was a beach and nature theme so the flowers were in square glass vases with seashells. The flowers were in greens, purples, pinks, and ivory that all blossomed with natural beauty and had the beach garden look.
Whether you can’t find just the right wedding favors for your reception or your budget won’t allow you buy the ones you want, you’ve got a wonderful alternative. Make unique wedding favors yourself!
Do-it-yourself wedding favors add a personal touch and give your guests something truly original. Not the crafty type? No problem. You don’t need to be. With these simple suggestions anyone can quickly make impressive, unique wedding favors your guests will rave about.
1. The Idea of Marriage:
• For most people the day you say “I do” is the day everything changes. You no longer view yourself in just a relationship but a marriage. Marriage to some can be a very important and sensitive matter because of a past experience with divorce or a religious commitment with their purity.
• Saving yourself for this one person to spend the rest of your life with is quite an honor and although it is less common in today’s society, there are expectations behind the commitment.
• I cannot emphasize this more: Make sure you discuss what each other think of marriage. What do the wedding vows mean to you? How do you plan on addressing the commitment? This will help eliminate a last minute cancellation or future divorce.
Right now you are going through one of the most emotionally draining processes you will ever experience. The six moths leading up to your wedding seem to go by very slow. Decisions need to be made and feelings tend to get the best of you. Don’t worry and relax. The best way to get through this is by taking it one day at a time.
Although you are madly in love with your fiancé and so excited about the wedding, the reality of marriage and planning the wedding will sink in. Don’t stress yourself out about these feelings of uncertainty or questions. They are normal and most women experience this. I like to refer to them as pre-wedding jitters.
Finding the perfect wedding dress is one of the most difficult decisions the bride to be must make. You may fall head over heels for a dress in one of the many bridal magazines. But, please take into consideration every woman’s body is different and the possibility of the dress looking exactly as it does on you is very slim.
Get Experienced Advice
My number one piece of advice is to make an appointment with a bridal boutique near you to get help from women who tend to hundreds of other brides to be. They will choose dresses that accent your unique curves.
With so much joy and excitement, the holidays can be the perfect time for weddings. With family and friends gathered near for holiday celebrations, a wedding can add yet another festivity that everyone can enjoy. Bring the magic of the holidays into your special day – from decorations to unique wedding favors – and you’ll see the spirit of the season spread to all who attend.
Christmas Ceremonies & Receptions
There are countless possibilities when it comes to making your wedding a festive event. If you choose a Christmas wedding, bright reds and greens make stunning colors for bridesmaids’ dresses. In place of ribbons and bows, try glistening white lights and garland streamed about the sanctuary.
A Christmas tree in the lobby, reception hall or sanctuary can be adorned with decorations from your childhood. What’s more, set up a tree that represents the beginning of your new life together. Pots of poinsettias from tiny to tremendous can be placed all about bringing in yet more holiday color including red, white, pink and more.
During your reception, serve warm, spiced cider rather than traditional punch. Also consider offering your guests Christmas cookies, sausage balls and other holiday treats. Planning a sit-down dinner? Nothing says Christmas dinner like turkey with all the trimmings.
Hanukkah Decorating & Food Ideas
For Hanukkah weddings, tradition will demand brilliant blue for the attendants’ dresses. White lights with blue ribbons also make striking decorations for the synagogue. Does your family have a menorah that’s been handed down from generation to generation? Using it during the ceremony is a memorable way to honor tradition. If there isn’t a family menorah, purchase a new one and begin your own family tradition.
Doughnuts, latkas and honey puffs (loukoumades) can all be made into individual-sized portions, perfect as hors d’oeuvres. If serving a meal, beef brisket, sweet and sour cabbage soup and other longstanding recipes will represent the holiday well.
New Years Weddings & Receptions
New Years is another option for a holiday wedding. Your wedding party will look fantastic dressed in a sharp contrast of black and white. Even if you don’t become husband and wife at the stroke of midnight, use bells during the wedding to symbolize ringing in the New Year and your new beginning.
The food selection is entirely up to you, as New Years doesn’t have “traditional” type foods. However, Champaign for toasting is certainly a must.
Unique Wedding Favors
The smells and tastes of the holiday season make for some of the most vivid memories, so make sure to include your favorites at the reception. Use candles scented with evergreen, cinnamon or baked goods to add to the holiday theme.
Unique wedding favors might include silver bells that can be used for decoration or personalized Christmas ornaments. There are also candleholders, bookmarks and key rings in the shape of snowflakes that go along with the holiday theme. Other unique wedding favors include personalized packages of coffee and tea that will help warm your guests.
It surely will be a season of celebration when you add your holiday wedding to the list of festivities. With friends and family drawn near, the memories you make will add to the joy of the holidays to come for years and years.
Choosing the people responsible for creating mouthwatering delicacies for your wedding can be a real challenge. There are a few things you must consider before making your decision.
I wish there had been someone to warn me when I was going through this because the wedding catering business is quite diverse and quality of food can make the world of a difference.
With my experience in mind, I developed this article to hopefully help another bride to be.
It was a day you’ll never forget. He dropped to one knee, presented you with a stunning engagement ring and you gleefully accepted with a resounding, “Yes!” The rush of adrenaline is relived each time you announce, “We’re getting married!” The excitement, however, can quickly diminish when the reality of wedding expenses hits home.
According to CostOfWedding.com, U. S. couples spend approximately $30,000 on their weddings. To make matters worse, that figure doesn’t include the honeymoon, engagement ring, bridal consultants or wedding planner. Is it really possible to plan a memorable wedding without breaking the bank? Absolutely! These guidelines will help make your wedding day a success – from the wedding favors to the dress – without blowing your budget.
Pick a Honeymoon Destination that will create a lifetime of memories.
Planning your wedding involves a great deal of decision making. There’s the ceremony and the dress. The attendants and guests. The music and the cake. Arggh!
